Why a park?

Because we believe that all children, with or without disabilities, have the right to play in a park. And because we believe in true integration, which is achieved by sharing and doing things together. With the Lucas Koch Children’s Park, we seek to promote playing as a way of learning and living together.

Description

The park occupies some 2.500 m2, constructed in a public place of leisure and recreation for all.

The park has different features that are adapted to children with handicaps, and there is a handsome wooden fortress designed on two levels, complete with ramps for wheelchair access.

The terrain is landscaped and has two picnic areas with tables in the shade, all designed for wheelchairs.  A large bathroom is also adapted to special needs and has a sturdy changing table.

To facilitate access, several parking spaces have been reserved for the handicapped.

Lucas Koch Children’s Park complies with European regulations of the normative UNE-EN 1176 (which registers children’s areas) and UNE –EN 1177 (concerning ground coverings).  It also observes the normative TUV.
