ORIGIN AND OBJETIVES

Lucas is a child with a severe multiple handicap. This keeps him from living an independent life, needing the constant care and attention of his family.

Lucas and his family are no exception. There are many such families, which have to give up almost everything to dedicate their time and economic resources to the care and attention of these children. This is one of the groups in our society that most need help but, paradoxically, least receives it. Committed to this situation, a group of friends and family members emerged with the idea of creating a the Lucas Koch Foundation with the main goal of developing a number of projects meant to solve, alleviate, or improve the many problems confronting people with severe disabilities and their families.

MISSION

To raise awareness and sensitivity in society concerning the needs of persons with severe handicaps and their families. To promote their rights and create opportunities. To foster respect, integration, and solidarity of society towards this group. To create links between organizations dedicated to social work, fomenting networks of collaboration through common or complementary projects.

Our mission is, in short, to contribute to a society that is more just and more humane.
